analog in toronto

I have analog cameras on the brain all the time. Because of this I see them everywhere I go, and to illustrate this bias for the world I did what any mostly sane man would do: I came racing tumblr's way. Here I shall present any analog or otherwise noteworthy imaging device I come across on the streets of Toronto, as well as a bit of information about the photographer if they'll allow it.

As with similar blogs, the purpose of analog in toronto is to show the cameras being used, the unique styles of the photographers, and the growing culture of post-digital analog photography in this city.

analog in toronto is inspired in every way by John Sypal's endless and endlessly delightful tokyo camera style, which I keep open in a tab even when I'm asleep.

Hey, thanks! My film workflow these days is loading rolls from a bulk canister of Ilford HP5+, developing them in my bathroom while Beulah or somesuch plays, and having the fine folks at Downtown or West Camera scan them. I am on a long-term hunt for my own scanner, though.

I definitely should have grabbed a shot of the T70 carrying the 15mm. Next time. Do you have a link to your work that I can include with the original post?

This is one of the tidiest of the 60s/70s rangefinders, and it’s part of a long line of compact cameras that spans multiple eras of film photography. Its descendants include the 80s-era C35 AF—which was the first production autofocus camera ever—and the 90s era Konica Hexar AF, which happens to be something I carry around quite frequently.
